I am on day two of my new job and have no idea what I am doing.
I guess I should back up a little bit here, I took a position at the Tech Academy working in their Job Placement department. And now you know exactly what I know about the job. Apparently they had the position but were unclear on exactly what the position would do.
It isn't ideal and doesn't pay like a coding job, but it's consistent work that lets me be home for dinner and I don't have to sell pizza or drive for a living, so it isn't bad, and if I ever learn what I am supposed to be doing and like it then maybe I have new ideas for a career. If nothing else I can still code in my off time and keep an eye on the job listings, plus having the Tech Academy on my resume still looks pretty decent so I am not complaining much.
Last night and today have been for going through the new employee course, a series of trainings that everyone who gets hired here has to take, I am at the point in the training where I need access to various systems and can't progress until someone gets them to me. Hence my blog post.
I had to take a break from writing this and during that time I found out my job title Remote Job Placement Director, I guess I will be helping the students who do not come into campus with their job search. The specifics of how I do that are unclear at this time, but now I know more at least.
I should have waited to order business cards.
