Doing alright

I complain a lot in this space, I don't mean for the blog to be all ranting at the horrors of the world, there is just so much to rant about, but things aren't as bad as I make it out to be really, people really are better than we like to give credit for and I do believe that in the end things get better. That doesn't mean that things don't suck now, and won't continue sucking in the future, and it doesn't mean we shouldn't keep fighting, but the point is that we do keep fighting, everyone does in their way. And things do get better, eventually.

You take your wins where you can find them, for me finishing the work week and having a relaxing and productive weekend was my win, it is my Sunday right now and I have accomplished a fair amount, I am reading more again, I finished Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood after starting watching it something like 5 years ago, I did chores, I shopped for Christmas presents, although not as much as I should be, I am doing creative writing again! Lord knows if I will ever have any of that to share but I am enjoying it nonetheless. Karl and I are scheming as well and that is nice, hope to have more on that later.

Work was really hard for some reason last week, I don't know why, it wasn't terribly busy, there weren't any unusually dumb customers, my bosses didn't threaten my job, it was just sometimes you have one of those weeks you know? There have been times in my life where that would have been enough for me to make irresponsible decisions regarding calling out sick or something, but I got through it and here I am, rested and ready to fight a rich person.

It won't change the world, but it's good enough for now, I think we can all agree that ending a day with "I feel good" is a thing to be treasured when it happens.
