Car stuff

People have been reading this less since I switched to morning updating, I wonder if that is because it just sort of gets lost in the feeds rather than being there when folks do their morning trawl through Facebook to see what they missed over the night. Alternatively perhaps I am just not writing about very interesting stuff right now, either is possible.

Not gonna change my writing times though, since I switched to writing in the morning I have been going to bed an average of two hours earlier and sleeping better, which is leading to me getting up before I have to leave for work, which means I can do stuff during the day and feel like I have a life other than just sleeping and going to work.

Which brings me to today, today I have to go get tires, which is sure to be a thrill. Last night on my way to work I had a blowout while on the freeway, it was pretty dramatic, big pop noise, spray of what I assume is condensation from inside the tire, the whole nine yards. It was however the middle of rush hour so I was moving at about ten miles an hour, also I was in the right lane already, control was kept easily and I got to the shoulder without issue. AAA took an hour to get there so I spent a strangely relaxing chunk of afternoon reading. It was kind of liberating, I was late for work sure, but there wasn't anything I could do about that anymore, I had called the people who could help me, I lacked the tools to help myself, I was comfortable and relatively safe, I had done my part.

I am driving on my spare, which is ridiculously tiny and has a big label telling everyone it is for temporary use only, also I shouldn't be going above 45 mph on it, so I get to leave for a tire store once I finish this writing, probably Less Schwab as my cursory research shows them having the cheapest options at the moment, but we'll see.

I still have to go in and figure out why the drivers side vents refuse to dispense hot/cold air as appropriate, instead only providing cool or warm air in inverse relation to what I actually want, but that isn't exactly urgent, my heated seat is messing up to, which I am pretty sure complaining about is pretty much the definition of first world problems. All in all things could be a lot worse.
