American Gods

I reread American Gods, by Neil Gaiman yesterday. It is still a pretty damn good book, apparently for it's tenth anniversary release or something they did an "authors preferred edition" or something like that, what that means is it basically has like two hundred more pages, this could have gone poorly, Stephen King's The Stand has a similar version and is basically unreadable after five or six hundred pages, it is an excellent example of why you probably need an editor. But American Gods turned out pretty great so we dodged a bullet there.

I reread it in preparation for the TV series coming out in a week or two, it looks like it is going to be pretty good, but I have no idea how they will tell the same story as the book, it gets a bit... mythic and stuff, I don't have a problem with changing it though, hell if it was just the continuing adventures of Jacquel, Ibis, and Nancy I would be happy. Cursory research though indicates that it will attempt to stay at least close to the novel.

Something to look forward to anyway, it is always good to have something to look forward to.

I know, I should be caring about a bunch of other stuff, we might all die soon for any number of reasons, but I just cant bring myself to write in detail about politics at the moment, that may change even tomorrow, but for now it is just too depressing, assume that I disapprove of like ninety percent of what is going on, and am using swear words in every sentence if you want to synthesize my opinions until then.
