He isn't alone

Something to keep in mind as we go forward is that The Toddler isn't an isolated problem, I mean aside from the fact that almost half of us voted for him.

Currently there is a small but growing faction of Republicans who are taking a contrarian stance to the Orange One, notably John McCain and Lindsey Graham, among others, they are primarily concerned about Russian influence on the president, and well they should be, but we should not be fooled into thinking they are allies to the progressive cause. Remember outside of two Senators on the Betsy Devos vote, the Republicans have been unanimous on confirming his blatantly incompetent and corrupt picks. Both Graham and McCain have spoken against some of his acts and policies, but when it comes down to actually voting they fall in line like all the rest.

We might see that end as The Toddler becomes too poisonous even for the right, but that doesn't mean they are seeing the light, a successful impeachment or resignation would leave Pence in charge, and if a scandal brings him down too then I think it's Paul Ryan, both who are just as bought and paid for as The Toddler is, simply slightly less blatant about it, both would push the exact same policies he has, and both would meet with effectively zero resistance from their own party, and indeed the very fact that they aren't The Toddler probably would lead some Democrats to cross the aisle on the occasional vote.

The Republicans claiming to be his opposition could have, from day one, actually stopped him if they wanted to, but they chose to focus on their own infighting instead, and once his power grew enough they fell in line for the most part, never really strongly condemning him, not consistently. The point is, stopping him won't stop the agenda he is pushing, and at this point might only make that agenda more easily implemented.

It hurts to say, but it is possible that the ideal situation, from a progressive standpoint, is to keep The Toddler in the White House doing the most obvious damage possible to the GOP image and play for the midterm elections to bring a balance of power back to the House and Senate, only after winning one or more of those would impeachment be something to seek resolution on.

God help us all if someone assassinates him, or worse, tries and fails.
