Where's the outrage?

I think I have mentioned before that at work we have TV's on pretty much all the time, which makes sense as it is a pizza and beer joint, the reason I bring it up is that one station is always on the news, either Fox or CNN generally, so I get a pretty decent idea of what national TV news has decided to focus on during the day.

Lemme tell ya it isn't Russia, nor is it a cabinet of billionaires, nor do we see a lot of news about racial injustice, well unless of course it is committed by black people.

All fucking week they have been gleefully covering the group of kids who abducted, filmed, and tortured a disabled man, they love the shit out of this story, oh, and as per usual I will not be linking to any video of that, because the man's pain has been spread around quite enough thank you very much.

The news media has been... not exactly balanced in their coverage, but has stopped short of saying "Black person commits crime! Racism over/reversed", overtly anyway. The same cannot be said about the internet, where calls for Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to march in protest have flourished, the racists being given what they see as an opportunity to bemoan the fate of the white man under the guise of concern for the victim of a crime.

Before we go on, for those in the back, this case is not "reverse racism", I mean, even if the term wasn't essentially nonsense, racism requires a level of social control that minorities in this country are extremely unlikely to have, I suppose under the actual definition of the words, reverse racism would describe violence done by those without societal power to a representative of those with it, which would apply, but we all know that isn't the way it is used. This was a racially motivated crime, probably even a hate crime, and certainly pretty fucking horrific, but it really isn't an example of a minority dominated society lording it over the poor oppressed white man.
If we need more of an example of that we can look at the reaction, universal disgust, rapid arrest, and charges quickly filed. Bail has been denied and you damn well know there isn't any way in hell these kids are getting out of this without many years in prison.

For a counterpoint see basically any white on black crime ever.

So for rational people, the outrage is where it should be, directed against the attackers because in this case, the system appears to be working precisely as intended, and while that doesn't always correlate with justice, it looks like it is for this event.

If you are interested in actually doing something productive, there is a Gofundme for the victim that appears to be verified open and accepting donations at this time, part of the victims issues include schizophrenia, and what he went through is going to do that part of him no favors whatsoever, help a guy out if you can.

Just... also keep yelling at people who want to turn this into a White Lives Matter conversation, friggin dickheads.
