A goodby to an old friend.

I got a new computer today and have spent the evening in the traditional way, by disabling intrusive options, deleting included software, and downloading the stuff I am already used to using.

This thing is pretty ridiculous, it has a touch screen and the screen is friggin huge, almost every TV I have owned has been smaller, and yes it is way more powerful in theory than my old laptop, although I have yet to be able to prove that because any time I try to do something CPU intensive it decides it needs to do an urgent update to the BIOS or something. Also World of Warcraft is a big as hell program and hasn't finished installing yet.

The old laptop will got a friend who is in dire computer straits. I will be kind of sad to see it go as it is the laptop I got in preparation for Unplugged Games, it ran the store for two years as well as being my primary device since, it has been on for at least eight hours a day for almost five years and in that time has crashed less than ten times. The keyboard died once but I got it replaced so no big deal. It is by far the longest lasting and most reliable computer I have ever owned, it didn't even slow down too much during its time of service.

But, the new keyboard seems prone to sticking, the fan makes unsettling noises at various times that don't correlate to anything I am doing with the thing, incidences of crashes have increased slightly over the last six months and if I am being honest, I wanted a new toy.

Farwell Dell laptop who I purchased at Frye's using the criteria of cheap(under 500 bucks!) and 17 inch screen, you shall be missed. May you give your new owner the same reliable service you gave me.
