Nevada caucus

I often have to remind myself that those who vote in primaries are a very small fraction of voters who show up in the general election and just because someone dominates the primary doesn't mean that translates into the general election where the must go up against a different party and appeal to people who don't already agree with you.

On a relate note, Trump took the Nevada Caucuses with little difficulty today, showing that his loss in Iowa was a fluke unlikely to be repeated even in a caucus state.

I now firmly believe Trump will be the Republican presidential nominee, the only question is if any of the competitors can keep it close enough that the establishment players feel like they can get away with ratfucking Trump at the RNC later. That would be the very best outcome and annihilate any credibility the party still has.

Incidentally, Rubio came in third and has spent the last week cancelling various appointments, but he's still in it, Carson claims to be willing to keep going too, but rumor has it that he may announce the suspension of his campaign tomorrow, we'll see. Kasich is still here, I think he is banking on Rubio basically quitting in terror, which to be fair isn't that farfetched, and then Kasich becomes the smartest guy in the room, but I don't see it happening.
Cruz will run until he goes broke, he cares for nothing except power for himself and himself only, and will(and has!) willingly burned bridges and sacrificed power blocs for this, which means he'll fail miserably  and I look forward to seeing that.

I'm pooped and can't think straight, so that will have to do for my first reaction tonight, I'll have something more interesting tomorrow, maybe, no promises.
