Bernie Sanders Vs Hillary Clinton

I don't talk about the Democratic primary very much, because honestly it isn't terribly interesting, the field consists of two people, and until recently there had not been a ton to talk about, nothing too weird in the race, nobody doing anything terribly strange or evil, that sort of thing.

If you couldn't guess, Bernie is my pick, I suspect he won't win, but I like him a lot and agree on virtually all his policies save for his gun control history, and honestly he has shown signs that he would be willing to reassess that one, but even if he doesn't it isn't a deal breaker as his economic policies are of overriding importance in the race.
That said, if/when Hillary wins, she'll get my vote because as kinda crappy as she is turning out to be I am pretty sure that 4-8 years of Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio would be a shitload worse.

And Hillary Clinton is turning out to be kind of bad at this, in a lot of ways she is the JEB! of the democrats, though not as pathetic her campaign bears a few similarities, like JEB! She thought she would be president earlier than this, while JEB! lost his shot to his brother behind the scenes, Clinton lost in a pretty dirty primary to Obama, like JEB! she thought this would be her year, only to be facing extremely stiff competition from outside the establishment, like JEB! her party really wants her to win, and she has shitloads of money in a SuperPAC from all kinds of special interests.

The difference of course is Hillary Clinton still has a shot at winning this, and JEB! well, he doesn't.

For the first six months or so of the race Clinton was campaigning basically not to lose, she wasn't doing a lot, and her appearances were carefully managed to prevent uncontrolled situations or gaffes on her part, she isn't really an inspiring speaker, and her attempts at being high energy tend to fall flat, at least with me, but she didn't need to be inspiring, compared to thet Republican field all she had to do was not perform an abortion and sell the baby parts to science on live television and she would be able to win. And although she isn't inspiring, she is smart and tough and really knows her stuff, she may be the person most qualified to be president outside of Joe Biden as her run Secretary of State left her with  a lot of contacts, goodwill, and experience at the highest levels of power, it also doesn't hurt that she spent eight years in the White House as FLOTUS of  course.

But then Bernie Sanders started gaining popularity, it forced her to the left a bit at first, but she didn't care, as a career politician she knows she might have to modify positions a bit once in a while, and there is a larger progressive movement than originally thought. But he didn't stop! The youth vote in particular began flocking to him, too young to care about the first round of Clinton years, and tech savvy enough to at least feel a bit of doubt about her email controversy (which personally I don't really care about, but it is starting to show that some people do), they looked at the issues and fond that Sanders represented them more, and better than that, has a history of having done so. Additionally Sanders is a bit more charismatic and a lot more inspiring of a public speaker, he kept gaining and she couldn't stop it.

Then I think she got mad, it's the only explanation I can think of for her campaigns current antics as well as the pretty blatant attempts by the DNC to draw attention away from Bernie via debate manipulation. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt at first, he organization is large and she nominally has no control over what her PAC does, which of course is only true if you think the FEC has any teeth at all (it doesn't). But there have been too many attacks from her camp against Bernie that were outright lies and misinformation now, if she wasn't aware of them before she surely is by now, and has taken no steps to combat the message, which implies to me that she is becoming pissed off that he is taking a shot at her, and she is taking it personally

It's sad, because I think if she left him alone an just straight debated the issues, she would still be in a strong place, but she wouldn't and people are asking themselves "Who is the Bernie guy and why does this woman hate him so?"
She feels entitled to the presidency and can feel it slipping away, and just can't convince herself that her party has slid far enough left that Sanders might actually be the one.

Anyway, I give Sanders a 15 point win in New Hampshire tomorrow night, but a slight edge to Hillary come Super Tuesday and the rest of the states, but that could change pretty quick, and I am feeling the Bern, I hope it does.
