I am scared

No one seems to be talking about it, but I really hope someone is making plans for it. As we grow closer to election season I am getting more and more worried. I hope and believe that whoever runs against our current overlord will win handily, I've been disappointed before for sure but I still hold that opinion. My question is what happens next?

What do we do if he just... refuses to leave? Says the election results are invalid and he will be remaining as president for the foreseeable future? You have to keep in mind he has enough sycophants and lackeys in the establishment who will literally do anything he wants regardless of legality, and if his base of support nationally is anything to go on, at least 35-40% of the police and military are on his side. What happens if he doesn't go? What happens if he keeps giving orders and half the government keeps listening to them? What happens if the units sent to remove or arrest him refuse?

I worry that because we haven't really had a situation like this before, that everyone will just assume a transfer of power would go smoothly in the name of "decorum" but nothing about the Republican party in general and the current president in particular has shown that they are interested in decorum except when their opponents aren't kissing enough of their ass. I don't trust the Supreme Court to not just give away another election either like they did with W.

Here's a scenario: He loses and immediately claims the election results are invalid without evidence, the GOP goes along with it because if he loses the party is almost certainly losing a bunch of seats too and they are basically Nazis these days anyway. He says he won't give up power without an independent investigation, the Supreme Court backs him up. 3 years later all investigations are stalled or discredited and there isn't even talk of another election in the next cycle.

What the fuck do we do then?

I brought this up to a family member or two a couple years ago and was sort of dismissed, but if anyone can tell me with a straight face that this isn't plausible they are either a liar, a fool, or a bootlicker.

We need a plan for a transfer of power with an unwilling outgoing president. Even if that plan is to burn every government building down and put them all to the guillotine. We can't let the next outrage be a surprise.

So that is what is keeping me up nights.
