Mueller on the move

Alright, well as the fuckers in the Senate decide how to fuck us all I figured we could talk about a small point of light in the world.

Special Counsel Robert S Mueller III has accepted a guilty plea from Michael Flynn, a Trump campaign official and former National Security Advisor, he has pled to one charge of lying to FBI agents, though I am pretty sure a lot of others where on the board if he didn't plea.

Flynn taking a plea is a big deal and means the Trump team is in a ridiculous amount of trouble potentially, Flynn was pretty high up in the campaign structure, such as it was, and there were very few people who could give him marching orders, for Mueller to offer a plea deal means he thinks that Flynn can give them one of those people, which means he thinks Flynn can give him a Trump.

Well perhaps not technically, my best guess is Flynn can put him onto Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and currently an advisor without a portfolio in the White House, Kushner seems to be the family member who got up to the most obvious shenanigans during the election and to my mind the investigation is going to come down to him, specifically what was he told to do and does he have any records of it?

He is not protected by the immunity of the executive branch and various treason charges could probably stick if they wanted them to, which brings up the question of how far he is willing to go to protect his father-in-law? My guess is not that far.

The president could and very well might attempt to disrupt the probe by taking a page from Nixon and firing Mueller, but I am pretty sure this would be political suicide, particularly once a tax package passes and the Rs decide they don't need him anymore, they don't give a damn about the rest of his goals, they don't want to spend on a wall and don't care about infrastructure, they are mad about what he has done to the party even if they have to hide it for now, they are using him and will happily move on to using someone less obviously insane as soon as they can.

A shitload of damage will have been done first though, but, sadly, we will survive that and probably not learn a damn thing, but at least the orange monster will be out of the White House, at this time I will go on record as saying he will be publicly named as a suspect and openly under investigation before the 2018 midterms.
