Morning!

In hopes of sleeping better, I am gonna try to write during the daytime from now on.

I woke up to the news that Devin Nunes has recused himself from the House Intelligence Committee probe into the Trump campaigns Russian connections today. So things have started off well.

I don't get why he did it, I mean he is up for reelection in 2018 I believe and I am sure he is thinking about that, but 2018 is still a little ways off and he has proven extremely resistant to recusal talks before now. Also it doesn't really help him I don't think, pretty sure when you blatantly share information with a target of your investigation after publicly denying that you need to recuse yourself, the damage is already done really.

That's the problem with most of these people really. There is a quote attributed to Winston Churchill that goes something like "You can always count on the Americans to do the right thing, after they have tried everything else." It's a good quote, and not as insulting as you might think given how many people and countries never get around to doing the right thing at all, however it seems like the GOP has taken that saying and decided to apply it to every single thing they do up to and including being shocked that their candidate is a madman. It's banning bandages, then dropping a knife on your foot and fighting for bandages.

It's been like this throughout the election too, one stupid, easily avoidable mistake after another, issues ignored until far too late.

Too fucking bad it didn't seem to hurt them in the election, goddamn voters are stupid as hell.
