Getting backed into a corner

Starting to feel a bit better, the day started out pretty shit, my paycheck was a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be, at first I just assumed I had worked less than I remembered, but when I got to work it turned out that the company had made some sort of mistake with everyone and had shorted them up to half their checks. But they also had corrected the problem and there was a check with my name on it with the difference waiting for me when I got there, so all's well that ends well there.

When I have a minute to look around, I see what is on the news, usually it upsets me because it involves the president and I can't stand to look at him, but yesterday and today had a couple stories which I found interesting. One being that the FBI has apparently been briefing congressional leaders with a certain level of security clearance about something. I can think of a couple things that could be about, and none of them particularly good for the administration.

In possibly related news Wikileaks dropped a ton of documents pertaining to the CIA's various pieces of spying software, which it may or may not be using in a manner not wholly consistent with it's mission statement.

First, fucking duh, it's the CIA, of course they are being irresponsibly creepy with their toys, how this surprises anyone in this day and age is beyond me.
Second, interesting timing from Wikileaks isn't it? The Toddler is being raked over the coals with his administrations ties to Russia, and suddenly a large and heavily publicized infodump on something unrelated to Russia at all pops up? This wouldn't be the first time Wikileaks has helped The Toddler and my guess is it won't be the last either, Assange appears more and more obviously to be in Putin's pocket as time goes by.

It appears to not be taking though, my guess is most people already assume the CIA is doing worse things and thus the shock is lessened a bit. Which I guess says a lot about how accepting of surveillance we are, but that is an argument for another day.

So what is going to happen? In my most optimistic scenario the president and his entire cabinet and allies, most definitely including Paul Ryan and Reince Priebus, are kidnapped by the Joker and dumped in acid before Batman can save them. Realistically though I suspect a few staffers and appointees are going to be thrown to the wolves, and then after the health care bill is voted on the Senate will turn it's eyes to the White House and we might see serious investigations or impeachment proceedings

To be honest, the GOP almost has to back something like that at this point, if for no other reason than that they can control the investigation, over the next couple of years it is entirely possible that the Democrats retake the Senate, and then they will have to take what they can get, better to to it themselves and try to take credit for removing a madman from office.

You read it here first! If either of my predictions come true I expect lucrative offers from all the major networks, particularly in the Joker scenario I mentioned.

For now I got to bed, I get to sleep in past seven AM! It is very exciting.
