Valentine's Day

Yes I know Flynn resigned, I will get to it later, but you know what? The administration will still be a dumpster fire tomorrow.

Today was Valentine's Day, and as happens with most holidays, my social media feeds filled with people declaring how much they didn't like this particular one, or describing the real reason behind the holiday(commercialism), or suggesting other things to remember, such as the Hawaiian natives killing Captain Cook.

And I had a big old rant about it from here down, I scrapped it because after a proofread it sounded pretty opinionated, even for me, and not in a good way. So here's the thing: You don't like the holiday? I can't stop you, but before you post yet another meme talking about how it is made for the greeting card companies, consider that almost half the population is trained from basically birth that showing emotion, particularly things like affection, are bad. There is one day a year where it is both acceptable and encouraged for men to act soft in public, let's do our best to encourage that.

I hope you had a nice holiday if that is your thing, and a nice day if it isn't, if you are in a romantic relationship and care about the holiday, I hope you and your partner did something nice, if you aren't, I hope you made contact with someone you love or care for, even a text makes a difference. Have a good night.
