Politics rambling

I never thought I would be grateful for the Cold War era mentality that put Russia and the US at each others throats and the world on the brink of nuclear annihilation, but here we are. With The Toddler in the White House and control of both houses the GOP has an unprecedented ability to implement its agenda, and by that I mean the agenda is unprecedented as is the fact that so many seem to want it implemented in the first place. But as I mentioned before the whole Russian connection seems to be the one thing that brings people together across the aisle. I give basically even odds at this point that the administration gets brought down because of it. It won't happen fast, the Republicans are going to delay at least long enough to get a few more key policies pushed, but it just might happen.

So that is something to look forward to.

It's depressing though that being a blatant liar and egotist doesn't disqualify you, nor does a close connection with American Nazi types, nor even more than ten people accusing him of sexual assault. Obvious and completely open private business connections? No biggie. No it takes literal treason for the Republican party to even consider turning its back on you. I know I have at least a couple of readers who during political discussions will inevitably say something like "I have problems with both the Democrats and the Republicans, and have voted for both in the past." as some sort of... I dunno, justification or defense of the party in general. To you I say bullshit. You either voted for a moderate Republican in some meaningless local election, or you voted for Reagan or somebody earlier than that, in the current era, meaning the last five presidential elections, if you voted for a Republican in a Governor position or above, you voted for what we are experiencing today. Which means you didn't fucking vote Democrat because there is no compatability, no crossover, between those two beliefs, none, unless you count Joe Fucking Lieberman.

So if you really have done what you claim in the last couple decades you are an idiot or a dupe, alternatively you are a straight party line Republican voter who just won't admit to themselves that their party is a pile of shit, look at my first paragraph and a half or so, nothing I said there was a lie, every single thing is documented and backed up in many cases by literal video evidence. This man is in power because your party put him there, if he is removed from power it is only because of literal treason committed by the person you and yours put in the highest office in the land. You don't get to excuse it with "both sides are equally fucked up" because you know what? One side didn't literally work with fucking Russia to influence the election!

Anyway, what was I saying? Right, something about impeachment or some shit. See, I thought at first that Mike Pence was keeping quiet over the last couple weeks because he knew The Toddler would implode and he wanted to keep his nose clean when the transfer of power came, and that might indeed be true, but the more we find out, the more it seems he also just didn't want people examining him too closely.

What more is there to say? I think the current regime is on borrowed time, but like I've said before, I am unconvinced that they will acknowledge the authority of those who attempt to remove them and I have no faith in the law enforcement or military organizations to not side with him if it came down to it.
