Dammit it is really happening.

Man I should be able to write forever, I mean the inauguration is tomorrow and the "festivities" have already started, I watched a bit of the concert in front of the Lincoln Memorial while at work today and it was pretty awful, the highlights were apparently Three Doors Down, Tim McGraw, and something called The Piano Men? I don't know about them, didn't see any pianos.

The Toddler was there, that man is incapable of looking like he is enjoying himself, in this he is joined by his audience, which was doing that thing that awkward people do where they sort of sway back and forth and clap a little no matter what is happening on stage, I hated them all.

But other than that, what even is there left to say? Dude's a monster and so are his followers, the fact that they also tick the boxes for terrible taste and inability to dance is pretty much irrelevant.

A friend of mine shared one of those image macros today, you know one of the ones that boils down to "It is okay to disagree" things, I refuse to go find one and download it, but in the context of how one voted this year. To her credit, she was not sharing it as an agreement but rather as a discussion piece. But hell let's talk about it here too.

There are many political things we can disagree on and still be friends, stuff like foreign policy, military funding, gun rights, and so on, I might not like your thoughts much, perhaps to the point where I refuse to talk about it with you, but we could still be friends much of the time, I can still, depending on your motivations of course, enjoy your company. Heck even opinions I hold abhorrent are not out of bounds, provided there is a willingness to discuss honestly and be educated on.

Which is why I have a problem with the above meme as relates to those who voted for The Toddler, they knew exactly what they were getting, it was covered incessantly for sixteen long, long months, every time he opens his mouth he proves he has no idea what he has doing, and every single person, bar none, he has selected for his cabinet is utterly corrupt and incredibly unqualified. You can't have gone so long, seen all this, and then vote for the man and still be a smart, good, person, oh you can be one of those, you can be a smart person who is a complete shithead, or you can be a good person who is unforgivably stupid, I will even admit to the possibility that you could be smart and good, but not a person, perhaps an alien intelligence who follows it's own unknowable morality.

Anyway, you going yo a protest tomorrow? Or Saturday even? I am, I will either have an interesting trip report tomorrow or a really much more interesting one in a couple days when I get out of jail/the hospital.
