Work update.

I feel like I am finding my feet at work now, today was a long shift and really quite busy, but I got through it and I am at the point that I can start anticipating what needs to be done and get on it without having to be told, which is satisfying from a professional standpoint anyway.

MY VOICE IS STILL FUCKED UP, IT IS BEYOND FRUSTRATING. I can't sing, or go more than a couple minute without coughing, but most annoying is that I can't project very well, after a certain level of loudness my voice just refuses to work, others who have been sick like this tell me that it took them a long time to fully recover as well so I am not too worried, but it is starting to be a concern for me.

Anyway, one concern I am starting to have at my job is that I haven't learned to do any manager stuff, which is the position I have been hired for, and no one has seemed inclined to teach me manger stuff either. This isn't really a problem, I get paid like a manager and don't have any accountability at the moment, which isn't too big an issue for me, but I do worry that my boss is going to realize that he is paying a manager to do less than a delivery driver at the moment and get kind of mad at someone.

I am not sure they really have a training program figured out, the shop has been running for a year now and I don't know that they have ever had new management hires in that time outside of who they started with, which means training policies are probably fuzzy at best in people's minds, I keep my eyes open and pick stuff up when I can, so I am still learning stuff, but at some point someone is going to actually have to si down with me and teach me how to do my job.

Oh well, as problems go it isn't the worst one, and it is possible I am misreading the entire situation and they just take a long time to train to make sure that I get a solid grounding on everything before having to do it for real, in the meantime I'll keep on trucking and cover what I can, things definitely could be worse.

I could be working at the Moda Center.
