Arena football

It's late as hell and I am blocked, so I wanna talk about a stupid sport. I realize for some of you basically any sport is stupid, and you aren't necessarily wrong, but arena football started today and I was reminded how much I hate it.

We are home to the Portland Steel, which was the Thunder last year and was changed for no reason I can figure out, but I can't actually be bothered to look it up or anything, Steel is a dumb name by the way. If this first game is anything to go by, we suck big time, having lost by something like forty points.

Arena football is like football except about half size and with padded bumpers around the field, also fewer players and it is boring as hell, games take forever because the play clock seems to stop every play, scores are always ridiculously high because a fifty yard field is really easy to cross, and actual tackles seem to be pretty rare, plays get whistled dead often when someone has managed to grab hold of the ball carrier. I feel like if they are gonna do that they may as well play flag football, at least then there would be some cool dodging or something.

The fans are a combination of weirdly obsessed people more out of shape than I am who will not stop blowing their stupid fucking noisemakers for more than thirty seconds at a time, as well as random people looking for a way to spend an evening because the team gives literally thousands of tickets a game away, I feel sorry for the latter group as they had no idea what they were getting into, but then again they all seem to want cheeseburgers while I am trying to get my cashiers to take their breaks so screw them as well.

So that's my thoughts on that, now if you will excuse me I will now go and do the much more fun thing and obsess about the Seahawk's off season, we all have our weaknesses.
