What's up with me these days.

I've been sick like all weekend, it's not even the kind of being sick where you can sit under a blanket in a medicated daze and just sort of exist until you fall asleep at one thirty PM, it's a mild fever and a head cold, so I haven't gone more than a few minutes without feeling like I need to sneeze for a day or so now.

On the plus side, Zena is sick too and none of our symptoms include stomach issues, so we have been able to justify getting takeout all weekend, which is nice.

I spent all day pretty much watching episodes of Luther interspersed with Sword Art Online, the genre whiplash is pretty intense and I can't say I recommend the combination, but I can't seem to stop either.

Thinking seems hard, yesterday I had a few ideas for things to write about that got superseded by Daredevil, but today I can think of none of those, I need to start writing them down.

Oh! I realized that lately it has been really hard to get me out of my comfort zone, but also that my comfort zone isn't really a great place to spend all my time, so I am going to start attending at least one local event, like a rally, speech, presentation, or something of that nature, every week and writing about it, this will accomplish three goals: 1. I get out of the house and maybe even meet new people. 2. I get a blog post a week basically figured out without much trouble. 3. I get to practice doing research and maybe even interviewing people on various topics.

3 is important to me because as I mentioned a few posts ago, I think I want to write a book about this election, my current thoughts on the format are a collection of my posts on it arranged chronologically, but then with more commentary and other background sources to place it in context as well as being able to look at it with hindsight.

The project won't truly begin until after the election in November probably, but I can at least start doing some background stuff and figuring out the format, as well as the above idea of practicing a bit more rigorous reporting and source documentation.

I'm excited! I've never written long form non-fiction before, or even cared about anything enough to consider it, we'll see how motivated I stay, but I hope it's fun.

That's all I got today, probably return to ranting about Trump or something tomorrow.
