Store-ies - The office

I'm warm and comfortable in my room, we haven't got a new heater yet, but the faithful old space heater we used for the office at the shop works well to keep the room warm.

Did I ever talk about the office? Well the store once was a convenience store, the seediest one in existence possibly, my friend Louis used to leave nearby it and I went in once... once.

Anyway, as many convenience stores do, this one had a walk in cooler for beer, which was basically the only thing they sold. Incidentally, the owners up and disappeared one day, left all the equipment and product on the shelves and were never seen again, the ATF apparently wanted to get a hold of them based on some mail I got when I was running the place so my guess is they didn't really care much about selling legitimate goods out of the store, but whatever.

Where was I? Oh right, so when we took over obviously we had no use for a walk in cooler, but it was a suitable size for an office so we got our landlord to rip out the display racks and put up a wall where they were, installed a regular door instead of the cooler one, and added some honestly sorta crappy wood paneling and a couple power outlets on the inside, we added a desk, a couch thing and  a couple shelves and it became the office, honestly pretty convenient though I didn't use it much, Zena would nap there and do the accounting after she came back from the job she did that actually made money and Whitney once spent the night there during icepocalypse, she reported the couch was fairly comfy, we still have it in our garage I think.

Because it was a walk in cooler, there was no heat vent, so we used a space heater during the winter instead, which is currently heating my room and reminded me of this whole thing.

There was a little window built into the new wall that looked out into the store, I used it frequently to terrify people who sat in the chairs nearby, no one seems to expect a window inside so that was good fun.

Incidentally, someone finally rented the space, it appears to be a pot shop now, this is depressing, Oregon has a shitload of those already, that shopping center could have used something cool, like a good restaurant, or a game store.
